Poem: Waiting for it to happen

Waiting for it to happen

You try your best to be prepared

Moments pass you by

And you keep on looking ahead

All around you see

Such misery

Oh! What you wouldn’t give

To finally live

But what you don’t realise

Is life slipping right through your hands

Life won’t happen, its happening

Every second that you wait for it

Its already gone

Yet you keep waiting for the future

As if it might be more of an adventure

Except, what of now

What of the life in the present

Isn’t it life still!

Yes, a little unpleasant

But isn’t it life still!
