PM Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet later this year

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin will be meeting later this year at the annual bilateral summit between India and Russia. A 2+2 meeting is likely to be held between the two countries marking the 50th anniversary of the 1971 war, it is learnt.

The development comes at a time when the two countries are collectively fighting the COVID-19 pandemic by collaborating over the production of the Sputnik V vaccine. The modalities such as the venue of the meeting as well as the date and time of the meeting between the two heads of state are still work-in-progress
