Prime Minister Narendra Modi will directly interact with the members of Self Help Groups through video conferencing at 9:30 this morning.
The groups, which will take part in the interaction, are under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana and Rural Self Employment Training Institutes. The interaction will be available on Doordarshan and NIC webcast.
Speaking exclusively to AIR, Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, through Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission, the Government is focusing on alleviating rural poverty and Self Help Groups are contributing in a big way in it. He said, so far 45 lakh Self Help Groups are in the country and more than five crore women are associated with the mission.
