Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Vijaypur town of Samba district in Jammu province on January 15 to inaugurate some development projects there.
A source said that Modi will inaugurate the all-India institute of medical sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur, Jammu-Akhnoor four-laning project, Indripattan bridge at Akhnoor and Shahpur Kandi-Ujh irrigation project.
The PM will also inaugurate beautification of Devika river project and Chenani-Sudhmahadev alternative road, he said.
It is also expected that the PM may e-inaugurate the recently-announced central university of Ladakh.
While it is certain that Modi is visiting the state in the third week of this month, the source said the exact date is likely to be January 15, though it is yet to be officially confirmed.
After the national council meeting of the BJP on January 11-12, the party’s central leadership will convey the exact date of the PM’s visit to J&K, the source said.
Meanwhile, BJP’s state leadership has started activating its cadre to “mobilise huge support for Modi’s proposed rally at Vijaypur”.
