Baramulla, Feb 11: Police on Thursday arrested a person for making fake ID Cards in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

In a statement, the police said that on specific information regarding printing and designing of fake identity cards of different departments, a man identified as Javeed Ahmad Malik of Barzullah Dhobhiwan Kunzer was arrested at his photostat shop by the name of “Speed Print “located at Barzullah stop Dhobhiwan.

“The said shop was raided and a computer monitor,printer and CPU were seized .The preliminary investigation revealed that the accused has issued the I-cards to different persons with different names, other than their original names. Thus promoting impersonation by fraud and cheating.”

Moreover scanned seal/stamps were also found in the CPU and might have been misused. An FIR vide number 9/21 under section 420/467 IPC of has been registered and investigations started. The accused has been arrested in the instant case, reads the statement.
