Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar today took a dig at Congress following reports that the opposition party may bring a Privilege Motion against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for allegedly misleading the Lok Sabha over Rafale aircraft deal during No Confidence Motion debate.
Talking to media outside Parliament, Mr Kumar alleged that Congress and its President Rahul Gandhi lack knowledge about the rules and procedures of Parliament. He said although it is their right to bring such Motion, but they should read in which cases Privilege Motion can be brought.
The Minister also rejected Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge’s allegations that government is doing surveillance of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
He said the entire proceedings of the House goes live and there is no question of any surveillance of members as 125 crore people see them live.
