Parliament ruckus Live Updates: Opposition members must apologise to nation for their behaviour, says govt

The government on Thursday condemned the Opposition’s ‘behaviour’ in the just-concluded Monsoon Session of Parliament, demanding the Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha to take strictest possible action against the unruly members of Opposition, who it said should apologise to the nation for their conduct.

The MPs of Opposition parties took out a protest march today accusing the Union government of not allowing them to speak in Parliament. Leading the protest march, Rahul Gandhi alleged that MPs from Opposition parties were manhandled and beaten inside Rajya Sabha for the first time in history.

Speaking at Jantar Mantar during a protest by the Opposition over the demand to repeal the three farm laws, the Congress leader said the incident was “nothing short of murder of democracy”. He further alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committing atrocities on farmers.
