Parents of roller skating juniors allege unfair selections, trials; Seek Govt intervention

Jammu: Parents of some roller skating juniors today met with the authorities in the sports department with concerns about trials and selections which they alleged were unfair.

Speaking to the media outside Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council office, Mubeen Bhatt, a parent said that Jammu-based Classico Club’ has monopolized the game and they were selecting the students in a discriminatory manner. The parents leveled a series of allegations against the Club management and also the J&K Roller Skating Association as they sought government intervention in the issue.

They also said that no certificates have been disbursed since 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and even small children, cadets and sub-juniors who participated in the first open national at Mohali.

The team Classico Club owned by senior players including some government employees always remains selectors for the national team for the last four to five years.
