Panthachowk encounter: Three JeM militants killed, one among them Suhail was involved in Zewan attack: IGP Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police Friday said that Suhail Rather, one among the three slain militants of the Jaish-i-Muhammad outfit was involved in the Zewan militant bus attack.

In a tweet, while quoting IGP Kashmir, the Kashmir Police Zone wrote on its official Twitter handle, “One of the killed militants has been identified as Suhail Ahmad Rather of militant outfit JeM. As revealed during yesterday’s PC, militant Suhail was also involved in ZewanMilitantAttack. All militants involved in the Zewan attack have been neutralised: IGP Kashmir,”.

Meanwhile, the JeM outfit lost its 9 men in just 24 hours in three different encounters in Valley. Earlier in the wee hours gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Panthachowk. In intial exchange of fire, three cops and a CRPF trooper were also injured.(GNS)
