Pakistan provokes again; PM Imran Khan calls up United Nations chief to raise Kashmir issue

New York: In another provocative move, Pakistan has raised the Kashmir issue in talks with the United Nations Secretary General.

A report by news agency PTI said Pakistan Prime Minister raised the issue in a telephonic conversation with UN chief Antonio Guterres. This was disclosed Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN Secretary General. No further details were provided about that conversation.

In the past, India has categorically told Pakistan that it should mind its own business while reminding it that Jammu and Kashmir was an integral part of India. To this, the UN spokesperson said, “Our position on Kashmir has been reiterated. There is an observer group as mandated by the Security Council.” The reference was to the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan .
