JAMMU: The pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath cave shrine has been completed in one month, with nearly 4 lakh devotees performing darshan of the Ice-Shivlingam.

Official sources told that since the commencement, 3,97,272 pilgrims visited the holy caves during the last 31 days and performed darshan of Holy Ice-Shivlingam, of which 6,136 pilgrims paid obeisance till 5.00 pm on Monday (July 31).

Amid foolproof security arrangements and effective management, this year’s yatra outnumbered all the previous records.

This year many celebrities, including Badminton Champion Sania Nehwal, Sara Ali Khan, and people from abroad visited the cave shrine and took the blessing of Lord Shiva. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mentioned Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra during his recent Maan ki Baat program and praised the administration for the arrangements.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has said that Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from across the country and abroad are now the brand ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 62-day annual pilgrimage to the 3,888-metre-high cave shrine commenced from the twin tracks of Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district on July 1. The yatra is scheduled to conclude on August 31—(KNO)
