COVID vaccine is one of the most crucial factors in the fight against the Corona virus disease. The liberalised and accelerated Phase-3 strategy of COVID-19 vaccination drive has already been started in the country. The Union Government is continuously providing vaccines to the States and Union Territories so that a large number of people can be vaccinated.

The Government has said that the Centre is allocating enough vaccines to the states in a transparent manner. States are also being informed in advance about the availability of vaccine doses.

The Central Government has provided over 24 crore 21 lakh COVID vaccine doses to States and Union Territories so far. Of this, the total consumption of doses is over 22 crore 27 lakh. More than one crore 93 lakh COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States and Union Territories. The Central Government is also facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the States and Union Territories.

The Union Government has stressed that vaccine availability is going to increase in the near future. It is estimated that over 200 crore doses of vaccines will be arranged by the end of December this year.
