Over 1 crore 10 lakh people administered Covid-19 vaccine in country so far: Recovery rate improves to 97.25%

India continues reaching new milestones in terms of administering COVID vaccine doses to its health care and front-line workers. With over 4 lakh 32 thousand doses given in the last 24 hours, the cumulative vaccination figure has crossed the 1 crore 10 lakh 85 thousand mark.

The COVID-19 recovery rate in the country today stands at  97.25 per cent. Health Ministry said, in the last 24 hours, 11 thousand 667 people were discharged after recovery. Till now, over one crore six lakh 89 thousand people have recovered from the COVID-19 infection. In the last 24 hours, 14 thousand 264 new cases were reported.

The number of active cases in the country stands at nearly one lakh 45 thousand comprising merely 1.32 per cent of the total reported cases. The Health Ministry has informed that 90 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours due to COVID-19 taking the cumulative toll at 1 lakh 56 thousand 302.

Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR has informed that over 6 lakh 70 thousand samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country yesterday. With this the cumulative testing figure has crossed 21 crore 9 lakh figure. As of today, two thousand 393 laboratories are engaged in the work of testing COVID samples, which includes one thousand 220 government and one thousand 173 private labs.
