Opposition parties Thursday staged a walk-out over beating of a Kashmiri student in Haryana.
A Kashmiri boy from Sopore was reportedly beaten up in Haryana on Wednesday. The incident took place after three Kashmiris were thrashed in Haryana last week following which few of the accused were arrested.
According to the KNS correspondent, as soon as the Legislative Assembly started its proceedings on Thursday, NC, Congress and other Independent legislators stood from their chairs and raised the issue.
“Kashmiris are being beaten outside. Tell us what government is doing to stop these incidents,” the opposition legislators asked government.
They demanded that House should pass a resolution against these attacks and be submitted to Prime Minister.
After which PDP Minister Abdul Rehman Veeri said that government has taken up the issue seriously with various states.
However, the opposition said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti should issue a statement.
They also demanded response from the ruling parties on a statement made by BJP MP who has reportedly asked India Muslims to go to Pakistan.
The opposition legislators were shouting anti- government slogans then staged walk out.
