Only 1 out of 450 International travelers tested positive for Covid: ADC Srinagar

India reports 279 fresh Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths

SRINAGAR: Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar on Saturday said that there was one out of 450 tests conducted on international travellers, so far in view of the outbreak of new Covid variant Omicron have tested positive.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a book launch event, ADC Syed Hanif Balkhi, said that all those coming from abroad are tested again at the airport. “It feels a bit inconvenient to the people, but is necessary. The good news is that only one out of 450 tested recently came positive. He is from Bandipora. Rest tested negative.”

There is nothing to worry about, he said. However, precautions need to be necessarily taken, he added. (GNS)
