The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited has been given the responsibility to procure one lakh oxygen concentrators on behalf of the Government of India. This step has been taken to help the country tide over Oxygen shortage during the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. The cost of procurement will be borne by the Government.
India’s largest crude oil and natural gas company has informed that ONGC has placed the orders for 34 thousand 673 Oxygen concentrators to overseas vendors for immediate supply. Of these, two thousand 900 are expected to be received by the 21st of May.
The remaining concentrators will be delivered by the end of June. The Maharatna Company said, an order has been placed for 40 thousand units of Oxygen Concentrators to domestic manufacturers to boost the domestic capacity.
