Of 25 COVID designated hospitals in Kashmir, 17 have no patients

12% active COVID patient admitted in hospitals, bed occupancy 2.5%

SRINAGAR: As the cases of Covid-19 are steadily decreasing with each passing day, most of the Covid-19 designated hospitals don’t have even single positive patient admitted there.

As per the details, out of 25 Covid designated hospitals in Kashmir, 17 have no Covid positive patient admitted.

As per the data, till August 03, just 87 Covid positive patients are admitted in eight hospitals in Kashmir, among them 42 are on isolation beds while as 45 are on ICU beds. There are 3,353 Covid designated beds available in Kashmir including 3074 isolation beds and 279 ICU and among them 3,032 isolation beds and 234 ICU beds are vacant.

Pertinently, out of around 750 active positive cases, just 90 are in hospitals while the percentage of hospitalisation is around 12 percent in the valley.

Notably, the bed occupancy which was almost 100 percent in month of May has just reduced to 2.5 percent in the valley.

Furthermore, active cases in Kashmir include 324 from Srinagar, 147 from Baramulla, 76 from Budgam, 48 from Pulwama, 32 from Kupwara, 37 from Anantnag, 13 from Bandipora, 58 from Ganderbal, 30 from Kulgam and 08 from Shopian

The active cases in J&K were over 50, 000 in May month which has now come down to around 1,300 in the erstwhile state—(KNO)
