NTPC under Power Ministry playing significant role in dealing with Covid-19 pandemic

National Thermal Power Corporation, NTPC is playing a significant role in dealing with Covid-19 pandemic. NTPC, the largest energy conglomerate of the country under the Power Ministry has not only ensured uninterrupted power supply to the country during the pandemic but also has made efforts to enhance the medical infrastructure in the country.

NTPC has installed more than 600 Oxygen beds and 1200 isolation beds. The Corporation has been working in close coordination with the states and district administrations in augmenting the medical infrastructure.  During the crisis situation, various NTPC projects have provided more than two thousand industrial cylinders to district administrations which are being converted and used as Medical Oxygen cylinders.

NTPC is also playing a major role in creating infrastructure for Oxygen generation across the country by setting up more than two dozen Oxygen Generation plants. Nine Pressure swing adsorption type plants and two bottling plants are being set up in Delhi-NCR for the supply of medical oxygen. These plants will start operating from this month itself.
