Jammu: Following massive protests across Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Territory government has claimed that it has no plans to dis-engage the employees engaged under the ‘Rehbar‘ scheme in various departments.
Since the last weekend, thousands of employees engaged under Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat and National Youth Corps are on the streets in wake of a purported Government move to disengage them.
On Monday, leaders of several political parties including former Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah came in support of the agitating employees. Even as almost all parties came in support of the agitation, several hundreds of employees staged a sit-in at the BJP office in Jammu to protest against the Government’s move.
Monday afternoon, the Union Territory Government issued a statement claiming that it has no plans to dis-engage them. The statement said, “This is to clarify that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has no plans to disengage employees who are working under Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat and NYC scheme”.
