SRINAGAR: Several councillors on Thursday moved a no-confidence motion against Municipal Council president Handwara.

Sources told that 7 councillors backed by Peoples Conference have moved the confidence motion against the incumbent president Mansoor Bandey.

Notably, a no-confidence motion was also moved against him last year, however, he managed to prove his majority.

Meanwhile, Vice-Chairman MC Handwara, Bashir Ahmad while confirming the development said that he along with 6 other councillors have moved the no-confidence motion against the chairman. He said that they have proceeded and will wait for further official procedures as per the norms.
