NH-44 Blockade: Yatris stopped at Yatri Niwas in Chanderkote says officials

‘Yatris will be allowed to move towards Kashmir once road is cleared’

SRINAGAR: As Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been blocked due to landslides, Amarnath Yatri who were coming from Jammu towards Kashmir have been stopped at Yatri Niwas in Chanderkote.

An official told that as traffic has been suspended on the national highway, Yatris coming to Kashmir have been stopped at Yatri SASB Niwas in Chanderkote where arrangements are already in place for them.

He said that once road is cleared, Yatris will be allowed to move towards Kashmir. Meanwhile, officials told said that around one lakh pilgrims have performed Yatra so far. Amarnath Yatra commenced on June 30 after two years due to Covid-19 and will conclude on August 11—(KNO)
