Jammu: During the three-day online auction of liquor licenses in Jammu and Kashmir, the wine shop license in Kathua district has attracted highest bid of 3.15 crore, while the bid for another license in the same district went up to Rs 2.25 crore. .
The two highest were made in Kathua district while the third highest bid for license in Jammu went up to Rs 1.8 crore. The fourth largest bid in Sudarbani in Rajouri district went up to Rs 1.4 crore.
This information was tweeted by excise commissioner Rahul Gupta on social media. The liquor license bid in Domana, an outskirts of Jammu, was for 1.63 crore. The liquor shop of Rosie’s Wine Shop, Bhonla, bid Rs 82 lakh, while the same went up to Rs 40 lakh in the name of Santosh Kumari in Nagrota.
The highest bid was 39 lakhs in Doda district, Rs 1.22 crores in Badi Brahmana, 31 lakhs in Nagrota, Jammu, Nandpur Wine Shop completed in 1.02 crores. License of Harbhajan Wine Shop in Ramgarh Rs. 25 lakhs, Ramgarh Wine Shop 1.05 crores, Sanjeev Wine Shop Fintar bid for Rs 47 lakhs. Ardash Vanai Shop in district Poonch bid Rs 23 lakh, Gurmeet Wine Shop Poonch bid Rs 1.23 crore.
Ramesh Poonch Wine Shop went for Rs 1.23 crore, Romesh Wine Shop bid for Rs 96 lakh, Pauni Rs 37.25 lakh, Bhadarwah Rs 1.39 crore and Renuka Wine Shop in Naivala for Rs 72 lakh.
Amid widespread opposition from local wine traders, the Jammu and Kashmir Excise Department started an online auction for 228 liquor shops under new Excise Policy 2021-22.
People took part in this online auction on Thursday at 9 am from the link given on the department’s website. For this, registration had started five days ago and people who had registered to participate in the auction got a link, which made them participate in this auction process.
This auction completely transparent and to address the problem of being faced by people participating in the auction, helpline numbers have also been issued by the committee headed by the Commissioner of Excise Department.
The daily schedule was already released for the auction of these 228 shops, so people participated in the auction based on their location. For the location for which the auction started today, the link will be open for 72 hours now.
Location has been issued by the department at the ward level and in wards where more than one location is coming, the locations have been shown by A, B and C.
The department had uploaded the complete information of these locations, registration of fees and other formalities to participate in the auction on its website on Wednesday itself.
Each location has been given a different ID so that the applicant is clear in every way and does not auction for any wrong location.
This entire process will be online and fees will also be deposited online and after the completion of the process, the department will release the list of successful people.
