Taking note of regular incidents of road accidents in particular areas, Gupta urged Lt Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to direct concern authorities of the health department to explore possibility of developing more trauma centers near accident-prone highways to help accident victims during the crucial golden hours.

He expressed serious concern over the frequent road accidents and loss of large number of lives. Gupta further demanded LG to raise awareness about road safety, Road Safety Fund, strengthening of highway patrolling for prevention of accidents and fatalities, besides deployment of Ambulances.

The NDPI president said as deaths take place frequently on the roads, functioning of traffic authorities and Motor Vehicle Departments is questionable.
