Jammu: 01 Nov: NCC Annual Training Camp by 2 J&K Girls Bn is thriving exceptionally well, training around 200 girl cadets. The training programme designed for the camp is replete with practical knowledge and is executed in a prudent way to provide an overall exposure to cadets pertaining to vast realm of NCC. They say ‘Obstacles can be a launching point to propel you’, keeping up with the same notion the girl cadets are trained to transcend obstacles like- Gate Vault, Clear Jump, High Wall, Zig-Zag balance, Double ditch, Ramp and to emerge victorious with every daunting challenge with utmost grace. Another hallmark of the camp is Weapon Training, Firing, Map-Reading and Drill which go hand in hand in honing the skills and personality of the cadets. The trainees are introduced with the basic elements of First-Aid, Field & Battle Craft, and the nuances of Tent Pitching, so as to transform them into promising NCC cadets. Another distinctive feature of the camp is to acquaint the cadets with Disaster Management Skills, techniques of CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Respiration) and basic Fire-Fighting Skills. Ms Shashi Thakur, DSP, Dy Controller, Civil Defence Jammu, graced the camp along with her team and conducted an enlightening session for the cadets so that they are able to minimize the impact of any such odd event. In order to gauge the accomplishments of the camp, Brig Satish Kumar, Gp Commander NCC Jammu, also paid a visit to the camping site and appreciated the efforts put in by the battalion to execute the camp. The Annual Training Camp is preparing the cadets to carve a niche for themselves in upcoming NCC ‘B’ & ‘C’ Certificate examination.
