Jammu: Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma on Thursday inaugurated Block Health Mela at Block Development Office, Bishnah.
The Melas are being organised across the Union Territory to sensitize people about the importance of health and wellbeing as well as to bring varied health facilities at the doorsteps of the public.
The camp was attended by former MLA Bishnah, BDC Chairman, SDM Bishnah, BMO Bishnah, senior officials and prominent personalities.
Many stalls were installed within the premises of at Block Development Office, Bishnah providing facilities of Covid vaccination, Eye Care, Gen Check-up, Health-related tests, Golden Cards, OPD etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government is committed for the welfare of the people. “Every medical facility, which is not even available in Primary Health Centers (PHC) or Community Health Centers (CHC) are being delivered to people in these camps and even masses are being sanitised to stay healthy,” he said.
He added that this Block Health Mela has yielded desired results with the collective efforts of health officials as well as witnessed a large number of participations.
He also appealed to people to register for Golden cards, and avail service of Jan Aushadhi and other health schemes for their better health care and safety.
The Mela witnessed an overwhelming participation of locals who availed the facility of free medical OPD diagnosis, tests and free medicine.
Senior doctors, staff of paramedics and technicians conducted health check-ups of patients related to Gynae, ENT, Eye, Child Health speciality, skin, general medicine, ortho, general surgery and dental check up on the occasion.
