BARAMULLA: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla claimed to have apprehended the most wanted and notorious drug smuggler during a Naka checking at Kharkal Lolpora Kunzer.
The accused that has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Malla of Dhobiwan Kunzer was arrested along with 19.5 kgs of contraband Poppy Straw. The Baramulla police has seized a vehicle and has registered a case in this regard.
Police under the supervision of Imtiaz Ahmed-JKPS, SDPO Tangmarg assisted by Inspector Waseem Jahangir SHO PS Kunzer arrested a Drug smuggler namely Bashir Ahmad Malla S/O Abdul Razak Malla R/O Dhobiwan Kunzer during naka checking at Kharkal Lolpora who was coming from Mamoosa towards Lolpora in a vehicle Wagon R bearing registration number DL8CQ-4861 who tried to flee away but was apprehended tactfully and was taken into custody immediately, Baramulla police said in the statement.
During the search 19.5 Kg of contraband, a Poppy Straw-like substance was recovered from his possession. A case under NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Kunzer and investigations were set in motion, police said.
