The Monsoon session of Chhattisgarh Assembly will begin today. AIR correspondent reports that during the five-day session, which will conclude on Friday, Chief Minister Raman Singh will present the first Supplementary Budget for fiscal 2018-19.
AIR correspondent reports that the monsoon session is expected to be a stormy as the opposition Congress members will try to corner the BJP government on a number of issues. The ruling party members have also geared up to counter the opposition.
Farmers’ suicides in the state, issues pertaining to drought relief, discontent among government employees are among the issues likely to come up. Since Assembly elections are due in November this year, the monsoon session is likely to be the last session of the fourth legislative assembly in Chhattisgarh.
