Missing from Samba, teens found in Reasi's Katra

Jammu, Jan 19: Two teenagers, who went missing from Bari Brahmana area of Samba district, have been recovered from Katra Town of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir, police here said on Tuesday.

The teenagers– Krishna,13 and Deya,13– both residents of Ward No 6, Bari Brahmana, District Samba, who went  missing, have been recovered, police said.

“Initially we suspected it was kidnapping but later found that the children had planned a visit to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi,” police said.

They said that out of three, one of their friends refused to accompany them and to escape from home, they portrayed it as ‘kidnapping’ but actually had planned a visit to the Shrine without informing the parents.

“When the news about their missing was circulated on social media, some passersby in Katra identified them and informed to Samba Police,” they added.

The children were recovered on Monday evening and were handed over to the family, police said.
