Minor kidnapped girl recovered within hours: Police

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Monday said that it recovered a minor kidnapped girl within hours of the incident.

Police in a statement said on 29-01-2023 Police Station Rajpora received a written application from one Bashir Ahmad Jahara S/O Fakir Mohd Jahara R/O Sonabanjer Khaigam that her daughter (name withheld) age about 15 years has been kidnapped by three accused persons namely 1. Sajad Ahmad Awan, 2. Javaid Ahmad Awan Sons of Sharif Ahmad Awan & 3. Sharief Ahmad Awan S/o Mohd Ismail Awan all residents of Pahlipora Keller.

In this regard case FIR No. 07/23 U/S 362, 109 IPC was registered in PS Rajpora and an investigation was set into motion. On this, a special Police team was constituted to trace out the kidnapped girl. During the course of the investigation, the Police team acted swiftly and raided various suspected locations, the statement reads.

After strenuous efforts, the Police Party traced the abducted girl and recovered her from the village Hergam Keller area of Shopian. The kidnappers have been arrested. After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the abductee girl was handed over to her legal heirs. People of the area hailed the role of Pulwama Police in recovering the abductee girl.
