Urges people, Masjid committees, civil society to condemn such acts
SRINAGAR, Apr 12: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range Vijay Kumar Monday said that militants are misusing masjids for carrying out attacks and that the general public, masjid committees and civil society should condemn such acts.
As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the IGP Kashmir wrote on his official twitter handle, that “militants have misused masjids for attacks ie. Pampore on June 19, 2020, in Sopore on July 1, 2020, and Shopian on April 9, 2021.”
The IGP urged masjid committees, the general public and media to condemn such acts. Pertinently, on April 9, five militants were killed inside the masjid in Jan Mohalla area of Shopian. Addressing the joint presser PCR on the same day, GoC Victor Force Rashim Bali and IGP Kashmir had stated that very minimum ammunition was used to kill the militants keeping in view the sanity of the religious place that suffer “minimum damage”.—(KNO)
