SRINAGAR: A militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in the Nowgam area of Srinagar district on Wednesday evening, police said here.

Kashmir Zone Police informed that the encounter started in the area on specific information generated by police. Police said that Police and Army’s 50 RR were on job and further details will be shared accordingly.

Police said that in the ensuing encounter one militant has been killed, while the operation was going on. “SrinagarEncounterUpdate: 01 #terrorist killed. #Operation in progress. Further details shall follow,” police tweeted.
