Militant involved in killing of PDD staff in Batamalo neutralized in Pulwama encounter

PULWAMA: The Jammu and Kashmir police Friday said that a militant from Srinagar, who was involved in recent killing of PDD Departments staff has been killed in an ongoing Pulwama gunfight.

Reports said that the gunfight broke out between forces and militants in the Wahibugh area after a joint team of Police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

IGP in a tweet by Kashmir Police Zone said that a militant from Srinagar City, who was involved in recent civilian killings has been killed in the gunfight.

“The killed militant has been identified as Shahid Basir Sheikh of #Srinagar. He was involved in the recent #killing of #civilian (Mohd Safi Dar, PDD Deptt’s staff) on 2/10/21. AK 47 rifle was used in his killing. One AK rifle along with Mag/Amn recovered: IGP Kashmir”, Kashmir Police Zone tweeted.
