Militant hideout busted in Gulmarg forest, arms & ammunition recovered


Srinagar, Jul 25:  Army on Saturday claimed to have busted a militant hideout and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition, including Dragnov Sniper rifle, 10 grenades and two IED circuits, in the upper reaches of world famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that following specific information about presence of weapon cache, a search operation was launched on Saturday morning in forest area of Marpathri in the upper reaches of Gulmarg.

“During the search, soldiers busted a militant hideout and recovered one Dragnov Sniper rifle with magazines, 194 AK-47 rounds, 10 Rifle grenades and two IED circuits,” he said.
