Met Department has warned of heavy rain in Odisha as a low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a well marked low pressure. Under its influence, several parts of the state witnessed heavy rain yesterday. Brahmagiri in Puri district received highest rainfall followed by Kotraguda in Rayagada district and Krishnaprasad in Puri district.
Met Department has asked fishermen not to venture into the sea during the next 48 hours as sea condition is likely to be rough. Weathermen have also warned of a possible flood-like situation in Rayagada and Kalahandi districts following heavy rain for the past two days.
