Meet Ranveer Jamwal, The First Indian Army Officer to summit all seven highest peaks of the world

Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal who was is on a mission to climb the highest mountain of all seven continents has now accomplished the feat. He is now “The First Indian Army Officer to summit all Seven highest peaks of the World and the ninth Indian to complete seven summits in the seven continents of the world”.

Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal summited the final Frontier that was Mt Vinson in Antarctica on January 04, 2019. He had depart on 25 December 2018 and has shared this news this morning through a facebook page. 

 

This brave son of soil has already scaled Mt Everest (Highest mountain in the World & Asia), the highest mountain of Africa (Mt Killimanjaro), Australia (Mt Carstenesz Pyramid), Europe (Mt Elbrus), South America (Mt Aconcagua) & North America (Mt Denali). Colonel Jamwal has the distinction of climbing Mount Everest three times.

 

“My summit is all dependant on weather. I am very thankful of my seniors who supported me whenever I need most,” said Zee News has quoted Colonel Ranveer Jamwal before he left.

Janwal has done more than 30 expeditions across six continents. He is the only person in India to lead back-to-back Everest expeditions thrice and a total of 51 climbers have climbed the Everest under his leadership, as per reports.

  • January 1, 2013: Mount Aconcagua (22,841 ft) in S America
  • June, 26 2014: Mount Elbrus (18,510 ft) in Europe
  • Oct 9, 2015: Carstensz Pyramid (16,024 ft) in Oceania
  • June 20 2017:  Mt Denali (20,320 ft) in North America
  • 6-9 Jan 2019: Mount Vinson Massif (16,050 ft) in Antarctica
  • Scaled Mount Everest (29,035 ft) in 2012, 2013 and 2016

He is also the proud recipient of Highest Adventure Award of India (Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award). He was declared the best mountaineer of India by Indian Mountaineering Foundation in 2017 & was awarded the IMF Gold Medal duly.
