Pakistan’s founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah visited Kashmir twice during his lifetime. The first visit was in 1936 and the second in 1944. On the second visit, he had traveled to Kashmir through Banihal Cart Road after entering through Jammu. By this time, the National Conference under Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah had aligned itself completely with the Indian NationaL Congress During his stay in Kashmir, Jinnah faced several awkward moments even as he was accorded warm reception by the National Conference.
