Market checking intensified at Shopian, FIRs lodged against erring traders

SHOPIAN, JANUARY 13: On the directions of District Development Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, a team of enforcement wing of FCS&CA led by Assistant Director, Riyaz Ahmad today conducted an inspection of various markets of the district and booked 8 cases against the erring traders for violation of Act.

During the checking a fine/composition of Rs 1700 were realized from the erring traders besides expired/substandard food items were destroyed on the spot.

Another team of Food and Drug Administration also conducted market checking, and took samples of food items. 

The DDC had earlier directed concerned departments to conduct regular market checking during these hard days and take strict action against the offenders so that the black marketing, profiteering and hoarding can be curbed in the district.
