Major fire breaks out in old building in Fort area of South Mumbai


In Maharashtra, a major fire broke out in an old building in Fort area of South Mumbai today. Part of the building collapsed and two firemen received minor injuries during firefighting operation. One fire engine and one special appliance were also damaged in the collapse.

No casualty has been reported as the six storey Kothari Mansion building was vacant for past 5 to 6 years. The fire brigade department received the call at 4.16 a.m., after which 16 fire engines and 11 water tankers were pressed into the service. The fire fighting operation was on when reports last came in.
