Maharashtra CM is expected to review the Corona situation in the state today in a meeting with the District administration. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar informed that the government will take the strictest decision from 2nd April if people do not adhere to COVID protocols. He demanded that all citizens above age 25 should be vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra has maintained a lead position in Covid vaccination in the country. Till date 45.82 lakh beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the State. In Mumbai city, more than 10 lakh citizens are vaccinated.
In Maharashtra, more than 52 lakh 65 doses of corona vaccine is administered to various beneficiaries till date. Senior citizens are giving enthusiastic responses to the vaccination drive and more 23 lakh 53 thousand Senior citizens are vaccinated in the state. 9.5 lakh health care workers have received the first dose of corona vaccine while 4.5 lakh have received the second dose of vaccine.
Around 7.5 lakh frontline workers and more than 5 lakh persons with comorbidities are inoculated with covid vaccine. BMC commissioner has said that the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has decided to increase the total availability of COVID beds to 21,000 in next 15 days.
Testing is likely to be increased to 60,000 per day. He said that, assuming that the new cases turn up in the range of about 10,000 daily, the civic body will be prepared to handle the situation.
