Mahant Rohit Shastri invites LG Sinha’s attention to Sanskrit language, suggests measures

On this occasion, Mahant Rohit Shastri presented him a self-written book 'Nagdevtaoon ki Mahima' on behalf of the Trust and drew his kind attention to the problems being faced by Sanskrit students and scholars in the present scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu: Mahant Rohit Shastri, President, Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, met Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha ji.

On this occasion, Mahant Rohit Shastri presented him a self-written book ‘Nagdevtaoon ki Mahima’ on behalf of the Trust and drew his kind attention to the problems being faced by Sanskrit students and scholars in the present scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shastri ji also suggested some remedial measures which the government could consider for implementation.

He also suggested that a State-level Sanskrit award in the name of illustrious Sanskrit scholar Late. Dr Uttam Chand Shastri Pathak ji should be started, learned scholar had devoted his entire life for service and promotion of Sanskrit language.

The award should be bestowed upon the persons contributing to the promotion, propagation and preservation of Sanskrit language in J&K.

Moreover, Sanskrit should be made compulsory from 1st standard in all Government and private schools.

A separate Abhinavagupt sanskrit sansthan, sanskrit academy, sanskrit sansthans etc.should be established in the UT of J&K. He also suggested that Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul, Katra, be converted into an Aadarsh Sanskrit Vidyalaya under Central Sanskrit University, Delhi.
