Says I want to assure people of J&K that administration would not take action against any innocent person

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that militants are resorting to attacks on innocent civilians to provoke security forces so that they will do something in desperation.

“The attack on innocent civilians in Kashmir is the result of sheer desperation. They are not even sparing girls and women now. It is their desperation, that they are resorting to such killings to provoke security forces so that they will do something similar in desperation,” he said, while addressing a gathering here.

He said that he wants to assure the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the administration wouldn’t take action against any innocent person.

“It has been the policy of J&K administration that our security forces should not take action against any innocent person,” he said. Sinha said terror is being used as a tool against innocent civilians and the administration and forces would do their work with promptness.

LG Sinha also appealed to the people to condemn these civilian killings in the strongest possible terms—(KNO)
