Jammu: The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinah on Monday kick started tribal festival in Jammu as part Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.
Recently Centre has announced that ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, on Novemeber 15 will observed every year in honour of tribal people’s contribution in the freedom movement and nation building.
“Janjatiya Gaurav Divas is being celebrated today across the country. Similarly, the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas is being observed in every district of Jammu and Kashmir,” secretary to Government Tribal Affairs Department, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said.
He informed that on the occasion LG Manoj Sinha assured compressive measures for the development and welfare of tribal.
He also informed that the in coming weeks a progamme will be launched in every to celebrate tribal culture.
He also informed that the Forest Right Act is under implementation and around 6000 people have been benefited across the Union Territory.
