Srinagar, Nov 21: Awami National Conference (ANC) senior vice-president, Muzaffar Shah, who is also the part of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) Saturday challenged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to have debate on the provisions of Article 370, which he stated were abrogated ‘illegally’.
ANC leader according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) challenged senior BJP leaders Anurag Thakur, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi to have with him a debate on provisions of Article 370 if they are confident enough that it can never be restored.
“I challenge Anurag Thakur, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Shahnawaz Hussain to have an open debate on Articles 370 and 35A which were abrogated illegally last year. Come if you are confident enough that provisions of Article 370 can never be restored,” Shah said addressing a press conference here.
Taking a dig at the BJP led centre for not restoring high speed 4g internet in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said ‘curtailing’ fundamental rights of the people is ‘unconstitutional’ and ‘illogical’ and the same deserves strong ‘condemnation’.
He said that New Delhi fearing misuse of 4g internet continues to deprive people of Jammu and Kashmir from one of their basic rights without giving a thought that what can be done on 4g can also be done on 2g.
He said the centre has robbed Jammu and Kashmir of its natural resources including water while its natives suffer the worst ever power and water crises.
“You loot natural resources of Jammu and Kashmir, its water is my asset that you convert into energy and then supply it to maximum states of India while people of my state suffer the worst ever power and water crises. How sad,” he added.
Shah also lashed out at BJP leader and Union Minister, Anurag Thakur for using unparliamentary language saying come Anurag Thakur, what did you bring for Kashmir, gold, silver, diamond, pearls or ‘bullets’.
He said if Anurag Thakur would come to Kashmir, he will be welcomed as people of Kashmir are famous for their hospitality and not abuses.
ANC leader further said that BJP will be wiped out from Jammu and Kashmir especially from the valley as the saffron brigade will get a befitting answer from people of J&K in DDC elections—(KNO)
