Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad attacks opposition for boycotting President’s address to joint sitting of Parliament

Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today  attacked  opposition for boycotting President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr. Prasad  termed the opposition’s move as unfortunate.

He said  the President is the constitutional head and he is above political differences.  He added that  respecting  the President  in his address is a healthy practice of democracy. He wondered what kind of tradition  Congress intends to  establish by boycotting the address.
