JAMMU: Romesh Khajuria, Chairman, Wool Woollens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India on Tuesday said that labour intensive products such as apparels and textile, agricultural, jwellery, leather, handicrafts and others have duty free access cover in UAE.
Khajuria stated this during inauguration of India Pavilion at International Apparel and Textile Fair, Dubai on 9th May, 2022.
The India Pavilion was inaugurated by Dr. Aman Puri, Consul General, Consulate General of India, Dubai, UAE and Mahir Julfar, Executive Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre along with Romesh Khajuria, Chairman, WWEPC Vishwanath R. Agarwal, Vice Chairman, PDEXCIL, Suresh Thakur, ED, WWEPC.
Seventy Indian manufacturers and exporters are participating in the event and showcasing their latest innovations in apparels and textile.
IATF is UAE’s an Exclusive Sourcing B2B biannual fair provide unique qplatform to the buyers and sellers to negotiate business deals. UAE is gateway to Middle East and African Countries for sourcing their requirements of apparels and textiles. Newly signed India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) opens up huge opportunities for Indian exporters in UAE. Last year, India export to UAE was about US$ 26 Billion.
WWEPC is hopeful by participation in export promotion events will further strengthen our textile trade to UAE and Middle East Countries.
