Kohala Bridge, a political milestone

British India’s to the State of Jammu and Kashmir, Kohala Bridge is on River Jehlum. It is here Jawaharlal Nehru was arrested by forces of Maharaja Hari Singh while he was entering Jammu and Kashmir without permit to defend Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah in a court case. Kohala is still a gateway to the Pakistani side of Jammu Kashmir where identity of a bonafide traveler has to be proved. This picture is over a century old
