Srinagar, October 13, 2021: National Conference leader and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that Pakistan and elements working on its behalf must understand that Kashmir is an integral part of India.
“Kashmir will never become Pakistan”, said Farooq Abdullah at a memorial service here today for a member of the Kashmiri Sikh community killed by militants in Srinagar last week. Farooq sobbed and had his voice choked while remembering the services of teachers killed by militants.
“Kill me if you want, but we are an integral part of India”, Farooq said in an apparent message to Pakistan. He said that all communities, including Muslims, Sikhs, and Hindus, will have to face the challenge unitedly.
Later speaking to the reporters, Farooq regretted what he called the growing environment of communal polarisation in India. He said this pandemic (communal tensions) will destroy India. “It is the responsibility of all of us to defeat the divisive forces”, the former Chief Minister said.
