Kidnapped girl recovered in Pulwama, abductor arrested: Police

Police on Monday claimed to have recovered a minor girl (name withheld) who according to them was kidnapped by one accused Tariq Ahmad Wagay, son of Mohammad Abdullah Wagay, resident of Armulla Lassipora.

Police spokesman said that the minor was kidnapped on 01 Apr, 2018 and accordingly a case FIR No. 94/2018 under section 363 RPC was registered in Police Station Pulwama.
“A special team headed by SDPO Litter, SHO PS Pulwama, DO Police Post Lassipora was constituted on the directions of SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam and a manhunt was launched to nab the culprit. Search was carried out by the team throughout the valley and they left no stone unturned to recover the kidnapped girl,” Spokesman said.

He said that finally Police Pulwama succeeded to recover the minor girl and arrested the accused abductor today (Monday).

“The girl was handed over to her parents and the accused is now behind the bars. The General public of the Litter/ Lassipora area appreciated the prompt and swift action of Pulwama Police,” police said.
