Khelo india: MoS Rijiju inaugurates National Center of Excellence at Gulmarg

Gulmarg, Feb 27: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry Kiren Rijiju on Saturday inaugurated the National Center of Excellence for Winter Sports at Gulmarg.

On the 2nd day of Khelo India National winter games, as per news agency, amid heavy snowfall Kiren Rijiju on Saturday morning inaugurated the National Center of Excellence for Winter Sports at Gulmarg and congratulated the players and athletes for their efforts to participate in different games amid snowfall.

While having a conversation with players Kiren Rijiju ensured them the participation of young players in the Olympic games so that they can make the country proud.

Taking to social media, Rijiju tweeted, “On the 2nd day of Khelo India Winter Games, I’m glad to inaugurate the National Centre of Excellence for Winter Games at Gulmarg”.

“Look at the happiness in the eyes of the young players. The hostel at the National Centre of Excellence for Winter Games at Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir has been inaugurated today,” he said.

Through the centre, the player’s will get a better platform.

However the officials said that the creation of such sporting infrastructures across the country is a step towards strengthening the sports ecosystem.

A large number of players from different parts of the country are participating in various games for the last three days under the 2nd Khelo India national winter games at tourist destination Gulmarg.

On Friday during the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Narender Modi said, “Jammu and Srinagar will have Khelo India Centres of Excellence to be followed with such centres in all districts of the UT.
