Kargil schools to resume academics from Sep-01 for class 6-8

KARGIL: The government on Monday ordered reopening of schools for 6th to 8th standard in Kargil district from September-01.

Kargil magistrate Santos Sukhadeve said that keeping in view the various representations received regarding the reopening of schools and in view of the improved Covid-19 situation in the district, all the educational institutions including private schools shall be allowed to open for classes 6 to 8th from September-01.

In an order, Sukhadeve said that the concerned Head of the Institution (HoIs) shall ensure that Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued by the district administration and Chief Education Officer, Kargil are followed in letter and spirit.

The order further reads, “The guidelines and the SOPs issued earlier in August shall continue to remain in force and any violation of these orders shall be dealt under Section 188 of IPC, Disaster Management Act 2005 and Epidemic Diseases Act 1897,” it reads.

Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday said that it was planning to allow the higher educational institutions to resume the physical academic activities to the limited staff and students provided they are fully vaccinated—(KNO)
